We push the boundaries of what you typically hear in club sets whilst encouraging you to explore the way you dance and move.

Dance Club is a dance experience that is at the intersection between a club night, a dance class and a dance show. We believe passionately in the power of dance to engage the mind, body and soul - our mission is to "Inspire Through Dance".

Dance Club is a collaboration between Nikhil Shah (Mixcloud, ManMakeMusic) and Mariana Lucia Marquez (MetaspeechMarquez&Zangs). The format is a DJ set with “guided” rather than “taught” dance instruction.

Dance Club takes place in spaces that lend themselves to creativity and self expression. We create an environment that is trusting and non-judgmental, allowing you to express yourself without feeling self-conscious

We noticed that people often close up their bodies when they dance, especially when they're in a club. The first pillar of dance club is designed to encourage you to explore your body. Warm up your body, warm up your dance.


Our comfort zone is usually one square foot. We rarely explore the space on a dancefloor. The second pillar of Dance Club encourages you to expand the space you occupy - both vertical and horizontal. Building on pillar one, we will also encourage you to think about your body and it's relation to the space. No more standing on the spot!


Speed up. Slow down. Bounce to the rhythm. On beat. Off beat. The "time" pillar will help you master your perception of time and rhythm; it will challenge you to step out of your typical dance habits and move to a different beat.


Dance like nobody's watching. Dance like everybody's watching. When you perform you burn 90% more calories. This pillar encourages you to play with the dimension of performance and the idea of performing to those around you, and then performing to just yourself. You are both performer and spectator.


Everything we do is in relation to others. This pillar explores a way to communicate with others using movement. Interaction through dance is a base human behaviour and Dance Club embraces this.
